:: Step By Step Adobe® Flash® Media Live Encoder 3 ::

Desktop Streaming (LIVE)

View these from your PC or Mac. Streams are delivered simultaneously to all players from a single set of files encoded at 1500kbps, 1100kbps, 750kbps and 450kps. The Flash and Silverlight examples switch dynamicaly (smoothly) between four different file sources. The QuickTime example streams one bitrate which is best for your connection.

Adobe® Flash® Media Live Encoder 3 Download Now

Flash Media Live Encoder is now available on both PC and MAC platforms Download free Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder.

Step 1

Once the download has completed, you will need to install the software.

Once the installer has completed: Launch Flash Media Encoder
• Make sure the audio/video capture device is working and is properly connected to the system/capture card.
• If you need to stream audio & video content, verify "Audio" and "Video" Device checkboxes are selected.
• On the right side of the Adobe® Flash® Media Live Encoder interface, next to Preview, verify that the Input Video, Output Video, and Audio checkboxes are selected.

Step 2 Video Setting

• Format: we suggest H.264 to get a better video compression [ higher quality with less bandwidth ]
• Format: Advance Encoder Setting [ " For Iphone " Profile: Baseline - Level: 3.1 - Keyframe Frequency: 5 seconds ]
• Select an appropriate frame rate indicates frames per second (fps). If you have a higher bitrate clip, a lower frame rate can improve playback through limited bandwidth. For example, if you are compressing a clip with little motion, cutting the frame rate in half probably saves you only 20% of the bitrate. However, if you are compressing high-motion video, reducing the frame rate has a much greater effect on the data rate. a value between 25 fps and 30 fps is suggested
• Input Size: Choose appropriate dimensions If your target audience has a slow Internet connection (such as phone modems), make the dimensions of your video smaller, such as 160x120 pixels. If your audience has fast connections, you can make your dimensions larger (for example, 320x240 pixels).
• Bitrate: Make your selection based on the bitrate available on your StreamingPulse Flash Media Server account [ reported on activation email ]

Step 3 Audio Setting

• On the Audio side of the Encoding Options tabbed panel, configure any of the following encoding settings:
• Audio When deselected, the encoding session does not include audio.
• Device Lists any audio devices that are attached to the system and are DirectShow-compatible. Click the tool icon next to the device to configure the device's settings.
• Format Specifies the audio format and the channel option (Mono or Stereo).
• Sample Rate Specifies the audio sample rate, as determined by the audio formatand sample rate that you select. we suggest sample rate at 22050Hz; for higher bitrates, Stereo or Mono channel, select sample rate at 44100Hz (iphone mono 44.100Hz)
• Bit rate Specifies the audio bit rate in Kbps, as determined by the audio format and sample rate that you select.
• Volume Specifies the input audio volume level.

Step 4 Configure output options

• You can use the output options to stream live video to a server, save your broadcast to a file, or both.
• Configure any of the following options:
• Stream To Flash Media Server: When selected, enables streaming to the specified servers when encoding starts.
• FMS URL: Specifies the fully qualified URL, or RTMP string, of the primary Flash Media Server computer. The URL must begin with rtmp:// or rtmpt:// and include your server domain name and the streaming application to use. You can optionally include a specific application instance and port number. For example: rtmp://flv1.streamingpulse.us:/1935/live/livestream
• Backup URL: Specifies the fully qualified URL of a backup server and application (optional). If you specify a backup server, Flash Media Live Encoder streams to both servers.Or else can be left blank
• Stream: Specifies a name for the video stream.
If you are encoding multiple-bit rate streams, you can either separate each unique stream name with a semicolon (;) or use parameters to create stream names. For more information on using parameters, see Use parameters in filenames and stream names.
[ %v The video bit rate - %f The output frame size - %a The audio bit rate - %s The audio sample rate - %b The total bit rate (that is, %v+%a) ].
You can use multiple parameters in a single name. When using multiple parameters, if desired, you can separate parameters with underscores to make the resulting names easier to read.
For example, say that you want to create an FLV file whose name reflects the video bit rate of 156 Kbps and the output frame rate of 24 fps.
In the Save To File box, enter myFLVFile_%v_%f. The resulting filename is myFLVFile_156_24.
• Auto Adjust: When required by network limitations, Flash Media Live Encoder automatically adjusts the quality of video by either degrading video quality or dropping frames.
• Save To File: When selected, saves the output to a file. Click Browse to specify a different filename and folder. You can use parameters in filenames. Example "sample.f4v"
You can limit the size or duration of output files to chunk large encoding sessions into multiple files.

Step 5 Connect to server:

• Click 'Connect' to connect to our Flash Media server.
• An authentication dialog box will appear, here enter your user ID and password to connect [ reported on activation email ]
These login details differ from your Flash Media Control Panel username and password.
• To start live stream manually click the - (Green Start Button ) - to stop encoding (Red Stop Button).

Step 6 Setup Wizard

• Our Setup Wizard renders the code you need to implement a specific player setup audio and video content on your website.
Login in your admin control panel under MANAGEMENT click ==> FLASH SETUP WIZARD
